The first conference of the Nordic Roadmap was a great success! Companies and organizations from the whole Nordic were gathered to kickstart collaboration for introducing future fuels in the region. Speakers from across the maritime value chain provided insights on the topic of future fuels for shipping.

The purpose of the conference is to facilitate partnerships throughout the Nordic maritime cluster and to share insights on the needed transition towards sustainable zero-carbon fuels. Together with the technical input, the Nordic Cooperation platform will be the corner stone of the Nordic Roadmap for the introduction of sustainable zero-carbon fuels and realization of intra Nordic green shipping corridors.

Key takeaways from the conference were that the green fuel transition provides great business opportunities and that the Nordics can be a first mover region – leading the way in the decarbonization of shipping.

The conference was divided into three main parts:

1. Welcome and introduction to the Nordic Roadmap and the Nordic Cooperation platform
2. Presentation of the project work and main findings of technical and strategic deliverables from the Nordic Roadmap project
3. Nordic initiatives and relevant projects outside the Roadmap
