The high-level conference in Copenhagen on December 3 was a highlight of the Nordic Roadmap project, where the project handed the Fuel Transition Roadmap for Nordic Shipping over to Nordic Ministers.
The Roadmap is developed by the project team led by DNV with members from MAN Energy Solutions, IVL Svenska Miljöinstitutet, Chalmers University of Technology, Menon Economics, and LITEHAUZ ApS, and in collaboration with more than 70 industry partners.
Key Highlights:
- The Roadmap provides a unified strategy to accelerate the fuel transition, with 20 specific actions to address barriers, including 8 urgent actions for green shipping corridors
- Nordic governments play a crucial role in closing the cost gap and enabling competitive tenders for green corridors, providing confidence for the industry to invest in zero-emission vessels, and the needed fuel infrastructure.
- By leading the way, the Nordics can benefit from value creation and boosted exports, and become a driving force in the global fuel transition.
The actions will provide confidence for the industry to invest in zero-emission vessels, and the needed fuel infrastructure.
Special thanks to the Nordic Council of Ministers for funding the project, MAN Energy Solutions for hosting the conference, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Copenhagen for hosting the networking dinner.
This is just the beginning, and we are looking forward to continued Nordic Collaboartion.
